it is GOOD for your heart

Our Mission
We began in December, 2007 and we have no paid employees.  We use volunteers for all jobs at KAH-Springfield.  Our goal is to feed hungry people in the United States and starving people around the world.  With the help of volunteers we package well balance meals for the less fortunate.

Our Food
The meals we package were uniquely formulated by food scientists to provide a rich source of easily digestible protein, carbohydrates, and vitamins needed by an undernourished child’s body and mind. The food is also acceptable around the world.  The food offers all 9 of the essential amino acids required for complete nutrition for the mind and body.  It is very simple to prepare, requiring only 6 cups of boiling water to make a complete meal
.

Questions you may have about our organiztaion:
What do we do?
Answer:   We package a specially formulated meal designed to nurse severely malnourished people back to health.
Who can help?
Answer:   We wecome all ages young and old.  Children below the age of 9 will need an adult to help them with the process.
Why Do we do this?
Answer:   We have a passion for feeding children.

People we strive to help "State of the World's Children 2007" conducted by UNICEF, showed 10.1 million children die before they reach their fifth birthday. Almost all of these deaths occurred in developing countries. This means each day over 27,000 children die of starvation or illness attributed to complications related to hunger.

Food At Work In Haiti

Port Au Prince Feeding
Toddler Nutrition Program Port Au Prince
Our March load reaches the people of Haiti.  Thanks to your help we are making a difference in the lives of these young children.  The new Toddler Nutrition Program in Port Au Prince operated by Life Line is in full swing.  The food is distributed to the community toddlers from Love Link Children's home located in Port Au Prince.  Although the program is organized and administered by Adults,  the children of the home also help their with the program.

Our May Shipment Lands in Haiti

We shipped a container of food to Haiti on May 13th.  The container of food arrived at the port in Port Au Prince May 16th.  After unloading, inspection, customs and any other process required by the receiving government the food will be in the hands of hungry people in Haiti.  The food will probably be released in 30-60 days.   THANK YOU FOR YOUR WORK AND SUPPORT.

2010 Projects

Project Help for Haiti

Helping Haiti Feeding Project:
Haiti has the worse poverty in the Western Hemisphere.  The situation was made worse with hurricanes Hannah and Gustav.  Life Line Christian Missions and Haiti's New Hope Mission are both well established organizations with proven a proven track record.   We will continue to support the people of Haiti and help them get back on their feed.

Hunger is Everywhere

Around the World
The World Health Organization estimates that one-
third of the world is well-fed, one-third is under-fed one-third is starving.

In the United States:

37 Million people live at or below the poverty line

Ozarks

150,000 people live at or below the poverty level in the Ozarks

Springfield

Many schools in this area have more than 50% of the students receiving free or reduced meals

Feeding Program in Tanzania:
We provide support in the way of food and uniforms for the 'street' children of Manyoni and Singida town in the Singida Region of Tanzania, East Africa.  We plan to work with the community to make sure adequate clean water and food are available for the poorest local children.   By offering people access to healthy food and clean water we can help them gain an education in which will give them the possibly of breaking the cycle of poverty.  This project will require $49,000 for food, shipping.  We can provide a uniform, shoes, school supplies, and food at at cost of $20 per child per month.

Springfield Area Friends Feeding Friends :
We want to continue to support our community feeding programs at The Kitchen and Salvation Army in Springfield.  Your help is needed; financial contributions, volunteering and food donations.   The goal of this project is to furnish 10 cases of food, each week, to the feeding programs in our area.

Distributing Food at the City Dump

Meals for Mexico:
We want to support the Missions in Mexico in supplying healthy food to children and families who live off the dumps in Mexico.  The down swing in the economy has limited their funds and they have been forced to reduce the number of families they can aid.  We need your help to send food to them and supply a healthy diet to the poorest of the poor in Mexico.  This project will take about $12,000.   Help us supply food for the hungry children of the dump communities.
